Dr. Cinefro started his college career at UCLA with Honors at Entrance. While there, he was elected to the Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society. After graduation he went on to attend the Loyola Univesity Stritch School of Medicine where he was elected to the Preclinical Honor Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then spent one year at Northwestern University as an Intern studying Internal Medicine, after which he returned to Loyola for his Ophthalmology Residency.
He is Board Certified in Ophthalmology and has been practicing in Hoffman Estates since 1977. He was on the faculty at Loyola for 25 years as an Associate Professor teaching eye diseases and eye surgery to Medical Students and Residents. As the Director of Ophthalmic Echography he used ultrasound to detect and diagnose ocular pathology. He presently treats all age groups for all ocular problems, including: cataracts, glaucoma, strabismus, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. He continues to use ultrasound technology in his practice.
